Baby Nurse Services Frequently Asked Questions
We recommend browsing through the following for helpful answers to our most common questions and concerns regarding our popular night and 24 hour baby nurse agency services in NYC, Westchester, North NJ, Fairfield CT and Nationwide.
We are still unsure of our needs, what are the schedule options available?
We offer Night and 24-Hour Baby Nurse Services. Night nurse support is our most popular request as it provides new parents help when they need it most. For night support, you have the option of 10-12 hours per night, for 5-7 nights per week. 24-Hour care is a live-in baby nurse who will provide support with baby throughout the day and night as needed (with meals and breaks included).
What are the qualifications of your baby nurses?
Our success is in our selection. We refer an exclusive group of top newborn specialists, most of whom we’ve known and recommended for many years. They receive newborn care training, are Infant CPR certified, are medically cleared with proper vaccinations, are fully screened with clean background checks, and have glowing references from our client families. They have a wealth of experience which includes baby sleep training, breast and bottle feeding, routine and schedule development, colic, reflux, preemie care, twins and triplet care, and much more. Most importantly, they really love what they do!
How long should we book a baby nurse and what are the minimum requirements?
We offer services for as little as a few weeks all the way up to one year, with the average family requesting help for 2-4 months. This 2-4 month period provides support during the essential newborn weeks and establishes key patterns and routines for baby care and sleep routine success. It is helpful to decide on the timing that works for your family and budget since baby nurse availability is highly based on schedule.
What if we would like to extend our baby nurse for longer?
A high percentage of our client families request to keep their baby nurse on for longer. We will try to work with you; however, extensions cannot be guaranteed as we typically book out our baby nurses in advance. If your baby nurse is no longer available, we will try to recommend another caregiver who is in-between assignments.
What if we don’t like our baby nurse, will you send someone else?
Yes! You are not obligated to keep the baby nurse assigned. This is rarely ever an issue as our clients are extremely happy with the help they receive and all of our caregivers continue to receive great feedback. If you are unsatisfied for whatever reason, we will quickly look to replace your baby nurse.
Can we book a baby nurse part time, for just a couple nights a week?
You have the option of 5, 6 or 7 nights per week. If your goal is to get some quality rest, we find that the consistency in care of consecutive nights work best in the long run at establishing a great routine and feeding/sleep cycle for baby. You can follow this same routine once your baby nurse leaves.
How far in advance should we reserve a baby nurse before baby comes?
As far in advance as possible! Although we can accommodate last minute requests, the caregiver may only be available for a short period while in-between assignments. We can select the most suitable baby nurse for your family with advance scheduling.
Babies don’t come when they are due so what if our assigned baby nurse is not available?
It would be great if all babies came when we wanted them to, but we know that’s a fantasy! We build in time before and after the due date to allow for flexibility. We will wait patiently on your baby to arrive in all his or her magnificence! 😊
How does the process work?
Simply complete our NEWBORN CARE REQUEST online and a placement coordinator will review your needs and contact you regarding availability and answer any questions you may have. We will recommend the most suitable baby nurse based on your needs including schedule, dates, location, duration, preferences, pets, etc. We will send you the baby nurse’s bio and experience for your review. We can also arrange a call by request to help you feel more comfortable before booking.
What are the rates and fees?
In our years of service, we have found that our relationships and competitive rates have allowed us to retain and recommend the most qualified and loving caregivers for many years. The services provided by our baby nurses has been called 'priceless and worth every penny' by our families.
NIGHT CARE: Ranging $30-$40/hour (varies based on experience and training)
24-HR CARE: Starting at $500+/day (varies based on experience and training)
Rates may vary slightly based on caregiver qualifications and rates increase for twin or triplet care. The agency fee of 20% is applied separately to a credit card based on the total booking period, and includes the placement, routine screenings, and guaranteed booking period. The agency portion is not subtracted from the caregiver's rate. The family pays the newborn baby nurse typically at the end of each week or another agreeable interval.
