For 10 years, Jennifer Ochoa has been a huge help to mothers of newborns. Here she is caring for twins, Cyrus and Julian Roley. Before they were born, their mother, Carla Roley of Park Slope, Brooklyn, who would be raising them on her own, spoke with a number of other mothers of twins, and their advice was unanimous: get help. Through the Park Slope Parents web site, she found Ms. Ochoa, a live-in certified baby nurse (links to More Than a Nanny Agency) who for three months helped to get Cyrus and Julian up for their feedings at night and put them back to sleep, and to soothe them when they were upset so that Ms. Roley could rest. Now, nearly eight months after the twins’ birth (Julian is two minutes older) and five months after this picture was taken, during one of Ms. Ochoa’s last days with them, Ms. Roley says of Ms. Ochoa’s assistance, “With Jennifer at my side, I was able to enjoy the first days and weeks of my babies’ lives without the delirium of sleepless nights.”
