How long does the process take? We always have a great pool of nannies, baby nurses and housekeepers, so our process is usually short and simple and will ultimately depend on each individual family's time-table. Once we receive your registration form and referral agreement, we can begin arranging placement or interviews. The interview and hiring process will move according to your preferred pace.
How far in advance should I begin the search process? We recommend beginning your selection process between 2-4 weeks prior to the date you need a nanny or housekeeper to start. Majority of applicants are seeking employment with a new family within the very near future or immediately. You don't want to risk hiring a nanny or housekeeper too far in advance and lose them to another family.
What background checks do you conduct? We do a complete and thorough investigative background check which includes initial and extensive application, reference checks and verification, interviews with our staff, criminal background check, social security trace, sex offender registry check, past address history, Department of Motor Vehicle report, and education/training document review. We work with a licensed independent investigations firm to avoid any conflict of interest. You will be provided with complete background check and reference information in addition to profiles.
What are the average rates/salary your nannies and houskeeepers earn? Salary expectations vary quite a bit and will ultimately depend on a combination of your needs/requirements and the candidate's experience. Factors that determine salary will include number of children/ages, duties, driving/car, location, hours, etc. Nanny rates range from $12-20per for permanent positions and $15-25 for temporary nanny services in NY and NJ.
Where are most of your applicants from? What are their backgrounds? Our diverse candidate pool proves that great nannies and housekeepers come in all types! Most importantly all of our candidates are legal to work in the U.S., are professional, have local and recent experience, are well-referenced, speak good English, and enjoy the work that they do.
How do you find your nannies and housekeepers? Referrals are everything! We do not find candidates from unsafe online sites where they have not been properly screened. Many of our nannies have received nanny, newborn baby, or cpr/first aid training with our training division so they take their job seriously. We are also fortunate that most of our nannies come by word of mouth and by way of referral from families whom we’ve helped in the past. Our nannies and housekeepers also come back to us year after year when their family has moved or no longer needs their help since children have entered school. We continue to re-screen our candidates again for any updates.
What if we hire someone and it doesn't work out for whatever reason? We do our best to support clients and applicants before and after the onboarding process to help encourage great, long lasting relationships but we realize that not all things work out the way we'd like for reasons beyond anyone's control. We are committed to our services and customer support and would be happy to work with you again to quickly replace your staff.
What are the benefits of working with an agency?
There are huge benefits to partnering with an agency for both families and caregivers/domestics. To give a quick shortlist: (1) Safety! Candidates are properly vetted in person and have a history/reputation with live brick & mortar agencies. (2) Expert review and recommendation; our agency staff has been meeting and screening domestic help weekly for years now! We truly know what to look for (including red flags) for 'quality' care. (3) Time & Expense Saving; families cut down tremendously on the amount of time and trial/error it takes to find people on their own. We send only those pre-screened candidates that we know match your needs closely. (4) Support, Advice & Resources; we are always here to answer any questions or give advice and support throughout the hiring process and beyond whenever questions/concerns may arise. (5) Less turn-over & full replacement guarantee! We offer a higher percent of long-term retention for your family & children; we seek career domestics who are eager to committ to long term positions and offer consistency for your family/children. We Care About Our Families & Candidates and promote long-term relationships!
What about payroll and insurance, do you offer those things? We can recommend companies who are prepared to do it all regarding the pay and insurance of your employee. We are child and home care referral administrators and cannot give legal advice regarding pay, taxes, and insurance.
